Hancock County Facts

Hancock County is one of Georgia's poorer counties. Its downtown area is reminiscent of life in Georgia in the 1940s. It still has a fair number of farms and timber lands. It is valued for it good hunting and a relatively inexpensive land prices. It also boasts some of the frontage on lake Sinclair which is a great recreational attraction. Its high tax rate has been considered a deterent to some buyers.
